Buenos Aires, January 11 (NA) -- A 31-year-old man with an extensive criminal record was arrested by City Police officers as he attempted to break into a home by climbing in the Nueva Pompeya neighborhood. Police sources informed the Argentine News Agency that the incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. on Saturday at a residence located on Pasaje Tierra del Fuego at 2500. Police personnel were dispatched after a 911 call about a robbery in progress. Upon arriving at the scene, officers observed the suspect hanging on a party wall with clear intentions of entering the home. Upon noticing the police presence, the man climbed down and attempted to flee, but was apprehended a few meters away. The victim later stated that he had heard noises in front of his home, which prompted the call and allowed the crime to be thwarted. The detainee has an extensive criminal history: from 2017 to the present, he has at least 11 police interventions for various crimes, including robberies, possession of unconventional weapons, and possession and sale of narcotics. In 2024 alone, he was arrested four times, three for possession of unconventional weapons and one for robbery. The accused has been made available to the justice system.
